Our Story

The fifteen of us met each other at an eleven-day international diplomacy summer camp in Washington D.C., where we spent much of our time debating a way to end the involvement of children in armed conflict. During a lecture with Dr. Paul Lisneck, the idea for an awareness website was born, and a few days later we were working together in the back of a bus to kickstart Putting Back the Peaces. We continue to invite you on our journey as we grow, and cannot wait to share more with you in the future. Stay tuned!

Our Mission

Our time in Washington D.C. opened our eyes to the harsh realities faced daily by children less fortunate than us, but also inspired and empowered us. Our aim is now to foster discussion regarding children in armed conflict and promote peaceful ways to reduce use of child soldiers, as well as expose the public to the violence that children are subjected to all over the globe. We hope that ordinary people, especially students like us, can realize their potential for effecting change in the world.
We're all in this together!
